Handy new barbecue plates have been installed on picnic benches throughout Eglinton Park, meaning people can cook safely without damaging grassland or park furniture.
It comes a few weeks after barbecue stations at the park were unveiled.
A spokesperson for North Ayrshire Council said: “We are delighted to expand our safe barbecuing (BBQ) provision at Eglinton Park for visitors to use free of charge at their leisure.
“We have just completed the installation of six BBQ plates at picnic tables across the park, allowing for the safe and responsible use of BBQs. This is in addition to our dedicated BBQ stations, thanks to funding from NatureScot’s Better Places Fund.
“They provide a safe environment for those who wish to make the most of their day out by bringing along a BBQ and cooking up a feast for their loved ones without fear of causing damage to the park or even setting off fires.
“We think they make a great addition to what the park has to offer and look forward to seeing people using and enjoying them.”
