AN Ardrossan dining staple has won an award at a national food ceremony.
Cecchini’s, at Ardrossan Marina, was Highly Recommended in the “Scotland’s Best Family Friendly Restaurant” category at the 2021 Scottish Italian Awards.
The glamorous evening took place at Glasgow’s Doubletree by Hilton on Sunday, November 28, and paid tribute to the best Italian hospitality from across Scotland.
A Cecchini’s spokesperson said: “The Cecchini’s team had an amazing night at the Scottish Italian Awards.
“We were very proud to be highly recommended as Scotland’s Best Family Friendly Restaurant.
“Thank you to all our fantastic customers who took the time to vote for us and for you’re continued support.”
The Ardrossan restaurant’s sister diner Cecchini’s Ayr also was mentioned in the Highly Recommended category for “Scotland’s Best Team”.
The award ceremony is held each year, with the best Italian restaurants battling it out to see who takes home each award.
A Scottish Italian Awards statement said: “If you’re an Italian business in Scotland then it’s simple, all you need to do is get in touch.
“We pride ourselves in being the fairest contest in the country, handing power over to the people who really matter, the general public.
“The public will be invited to vote for their favourite Italian venues/businesses across Scotland, the five with the most votes in each category will make the final, simple as that.
“If you’re lucky enough to make the final you will be visited by our panel of esteemed independent judges, and scored, the judge’s decisions are final, and the winner will be crowned at our glitzy gala final.”
