Young Three Towns boxers are getting set for their first big fight night after coronavirus lockdowns cancelled sporting events and closed their gym.

The IMC Project youngsters will be having their first fight this weekend in the Scottish novices event in Motherwell.

Coach Cllr Jim Montgomerie said: “They have been training for the last couple of years but not been able to put their training to the test because of Covid.

“They are all extremely excited and a bit nervous at the same time.

“They have worked really hard and dedicated themselves to it. They deserve all the good that will be coming their way.”
