A KILWINNING man who threw a chair in a Three Towns pub will have to pay compensation to the victim for his injury.
Jordon Rae, 23, admitted assaulting a man to his injury when he appeared before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court earlier this month.
Rae, of Brustfield Avenue, admitted throwing a chair which struck a man in the head to his injury at Bar One, Saltcoats, on January 22.
The procurator fiscal depute told the court the trouble began when an unknown male who was friends with Rae was ejected for putting two fingers up at the complainers. Rae became agitated and despite attempts to calm him down, he approached their table.
The depute fiscal said: “The accused picked up a nearby chair then struck [victim] in head. This caused the complainer to suffer a 12mm laceration. An ambulance was later requested but the complainer declined to be taken to hospital."
Sheriff Sheena Fraser said: “Mr Rae, this was a nasty assault and a serious matter. It is very fortunate not to have resulted in serious injury.”
He was fined £260 plus a £20 victim surcharge. He will also have to pay a compensation order of £200 to the victim.
