A CITIZENS advice service has returned to North Ayrshire four years after its closure.
North Ayrshire Citizens Advice Service previously had four bureaus serving people across the region until it was closed down in 2018, due to its funding being withdrawn by the council.
The new project has been made possible by cash from the Scottish Government and will offer advice specifically on debt and money problems, by telephone, email and personal appointments.
To be delivered by staff from Renfrewshire CAB, the service will have a weekly presence at The Ayrshire Community Trust office in Vernon Street, Saltcoats.
Renfrewshire CAB chief executive, Martin Fotheringham, said: “We’re really pleased to be back. We won’t have the same presence as before, but our expert advice will be very accessible to anyone who needs it.
“The service is free, impartial and confidential. If you are in debt or worried about money, come and talk to us. We won’t judge you, we just want to help.”
