A 100-STRONG team of volunteers united at the weekend in search of a Saltcoats man who has now been missing for more than a fortnight.
Friends, relatives and members of the public from the Three Towns and beyond joined in the hunt for Corry Ferguson on Sunday as concern continues to grow over his welfare.
The 26-year-old disappeared on Tuesday, March 1 having last been seen at around 9.35am that morning at the Spar shop on Wheatley Road.
Following a police appeal for information last week, an organised search took place at the ICI industrial site in Stevenston with participants combing over the vast grounds on the lookout for any clues.
A post published on social media following Sunday’s search said: “Absolutely overwhelming with the amount of people who turned out today to search for our boy. Easily 100-strong, you are all amazing.
“Thanks again from all Corry’s family, we couldn’t get through the days without the support from all of you.”

A statement released by his family on Wednesday said: "Corry is a much-loved member of our family and these last few weeks have been some of the hardest our family has ever faced.
“We are a close family and for us not to see or speak with Corry for this long is just so out of character.
"It feels like he has completely vanished and we have no idea where he has gone.
“We are overwhelmed by the incredible support from the people of Saltcoats - their help with searching, posters and putting things on social media has been amazing.
"We are so grateful for all the help we have received from everyone in the Three Towns and would like to thank everyone for what they have been doing.
“Please continue to keep Corry in your thoughts and know that we will forever be grateful for your kindness.
"We would appeal for anyone who has any information about Corry come forward and tell us and the police. Corry, if you are reading this, then please come home, we miss you so much.”
Corry is described as white, around 6ft in height and of slim build with brown hair. When he was last seen he was wearing a black parka jacket, a green hooded top, grey jogging trousers, white trainers and a black baseball cap.
Inspector Barry McNaught said: “We are extremely concerned for Corry’s welfare as it is totally out of character for him to go missing and not to keep in contact with his family. If you have seen him, please get in touch.
“Specialist search advisors are supporting local officers in our searches and ongoing enquires in and around the Saltcoats area.
"We have also been assisted by our Air Support Unit and police dogs.
“Officers are also continuing to check CCTV footage from the town in case that will help their investigation.
“We are working to establish where Corry headed after he left the shop on Wheatley Road around 9.35am on Tuesday, March 1.
“I would ask anyone driving in or around that area with dash-cam footage or anyone with personal footage to contact us in case they have captured any details that may help us trace Corry.”
Anyone with any information contact 101 using the reference 1113 of March 3.
