Sky broadband customers in Ayrshire are finding that they've been cut off this afternoon, leading to much frustration.

One Twitter user messaged the Sky Help Team account: "When will the broadband in Ayrshire be back on? This is beyond a joke now."

Another said: "I'm in North Ayrshire and it's down here too, been out a few hrs down here now, Sky themselves are having issues."

The compnay confirmed they are having issues in the area with a tweet saying: "We are currently aware of an ongoing outage in North Ayrshire.

"We are working really hard to get this resolved as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

Sky have been contacted for comment on how long the outage might last.
