Princess Anne's visit to Saltcoats was only a short one, following her departure from St Matthew's Academy at around 2pm.
At the Herald, we are in the process of trying to find out exactly why she was in the town.
Though our readers believe they already know exactly why, we will leave it up to you to decide how accurate they are!
Was she here to try some exclusive local cuisine? One reader certainly thought she was "Here fir a cali special" and who could blame her? This journalist decided to have two.
Another stuck with the theme of lunch, guessing that she had of course came to try Saltcoats' newest restaurant, "She's away to try curry on the corner," they said.

The sun was certainly shining as she departed, so pherhaps one commenter was correct to guess that she was "away for a wee paddle doon the beach".
While some thought she would be staying for a full night out, saying: "She's going to the Saltcot to try oot the ales and get a fish supper fae the Eglinton."
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like she hung around long enough for that!
Hopefully we will find out soon enough, and who knows, someone may have been right...
