HUNDREDS of people gathered at Saltcoats harbour last night to watch the lighting of the community Jubilee beacon.
There were stalls dotted around the area on Thursday evening as well as a performance by local troupe Dance Mafia, as a camera crew from the BBC filmed the event for their documentary - 'Platinum Beacons: Lighting up the Jubilee'.
The beacon was lit by Coastwatch Scotland Irvine, a local charity organisation that monitors safety along the coast.
And drone footage has been supplied to the Herald by local videographer Antony Fos, who managed to capture the moment the beacon was lit from above.
