Thanks to Paula Fisher, her family and friends, end-of-life charity Marie Curie received a wonderful donation of £1,150 to help fund vital care and support for those living with a terminal illness, and their families.
Paula, her friends and family – including son and former Herald editor Paul Fisher – organised a fundraising event at Ardrossan Outdoor Bowling Club in memory of her partner Dave.
Paula said: “My partner, Dave Rogers, received care at home from Marie Curie in November 2020. This was during the pandemic and made conditions even harder than I thought possible, but this didn’t stop Marie Curie giving their best standards of care. I wanted to give something back for all the care Dave received.
“Eventually, after all restrictions were lifted, we were able to hold a fundraiser at Ardrossan Outdoor Bowling Club. This was superbly hosted by local singer Mark Findlay and friends and family who came along on the evening dug deep to raise £1,150. We can’t thank everyone enough for their generosity.”
