A GYM that aims to “get the community together” whilst encouraging healthy attitudes is opening in Kilwinning next week.
Opening on Monday, July 25 in Alexandra Terrace, Mission: FIT offers tiered memberships and a session-based system that aims to make exercise more financially accessible.
One of the gym’s owners, Roy Blakely, said: “We get large groups of people from all walks of life fit and healthy for an achievable cost.
“Last year alone, between me and the other two coaches, we probably helped close to 2,000 people get fit, so we’ve got to the point now where we need a facility to bring all our customers and everyone who’s reaching out daily to the one place where we can get them fit and healthy. The gym is very central to the town which is amazing for local bus routes for people who don’t have any access to cars.”
As well as providing gym facilities, several other services such as classes, group training, personal training sessions, and massages will also be available.
Mission: FIT’s new hub will host an open day this Saturday, July 23 from 10am to 4pm where the public can see the facilities on offer, gain info on memberships and classes, and talk with the coaches directly.
Spearheaded by coaches Roy, Nicki Duffy, and Sean McKinnon, Mission: FIT began as a personal training service which eventually grew into a community-based service where people could participate in outdoor meet-ups and access online classes.
