A MAN from Ardrossan is due to appear in court next month after a paedophile hunter group carried out a 'sting' operation in the town.
The 67-year-old was arrested in connection with an alleged communications offence after officers were made aware of a disturbance at an address in the Knockrivoch Gardens area of Ardrossan at the weekend.
Police confirmed that the man is due to appear in court next month to face the allegations after officers attended the incident on Saturday evening.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a report of a disturbance in Knockrivoch Gardens, Ardrossan around 6.25pm on Saturday, July 23.
"A 67-year-old man was arrested and charged with a communication offence and is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, August 18.”
