AN ARDROSSAN teen got into a spot of bother in the early hours of this morning (August 4) after allegedly taking on a "silly bet".
An anonymous source told the Herald about the situation, which saw a teenager climb onto the roof of Stanley' Kitchen Chinese takeaway, before encountering an issue.
The youngster realised upon climbing atop the building that they were now unable to get down.
With all other options clearly exhausted, the teen, who we cannot identify, was left with no option but to call the fire brigade.
In the early hours of the morning, officers came to their aide and had "a good laugh to themselves", according to our source.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they had attended the incident today.
A spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 12.52am on Thursday, August 4 to reports of a person in difficulty on Stanley Road, Ardrossan.
"Operations control mobilised one appliance to the scene, where firefighters used a ladder to rescue a person stuck on top of a building.
"There were no reported casualties."
