Beith’s skatepark is hoping to undergo a dramatic upgrade worth around £250,000 – but it needs your help.
The Beith Playpark Action Group (BPAG) is seeking the funding to add a zip wire slide, concrete facility, and install outdoor gym equipment to the park.
While most of the funding for the project will come from grants and trusts, the BPAG is hoping to receive £5,000 in funding from the public and have opened a GoFundMe.
BPAG secretary Kathryn Young said: “Perhaps, like me, your children are now a bit older but have benefitted greatly from the superb park facilities, this is your chance to ‘pay it back’ and help invest in the park for the next generation of children.
“Or, maybe, you have young children or grandchildren, and you want them to be able to access local quality facilities on their door step, then this is your chance to ‘pay it forward’ and contribute towards ensuring that Beith has top class facilities which will be suitable for all children and young people.”
First registering as a charity over 20 years ago in 2001, BPAG were created with the intention of improving recreational and leisure facilities for children and young people.
