AN ART project that allows communities to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic is coming to Beith this week.
The Scotland-wide ‘Remembering Together’ programme will be visiting Geilsland Hall in Beith on Thursday, September 22 between 12pm and 3pm.
Participants will work with Glasgow-based collective, Icecream Architecture, and their partnered artist Matthew Donnelly to express themes of reflection, remembrance, hope, and healing.
Councillor Alan Hill, North Ayrshire cabinet member for islands and communities, said: “As we all get back to a sense of normality since the challenges of the last few years, the council recognises that it is important to help our communities to mark the huge impact which Covid has had on all our lives and for those affected by bereavement to find a way to grieve and memorialise the loved ones they have lost.
“We recognise that there is no singular pandemic experience. We welcome all ages from all walks of life to get involved.
"The workshop hosts are also keen to hear from local community groups who have done a fantastic job of adapting their programming or even launched new activities to support residents during the pandemic.”
The artwork will be produced through workshops that will explore sensory-based activities.
The programme was first launched in March of this year by Greenspace Scotland with funding support from the Scottish Government.
