FILM crews spotted in and around Ardrossan and Saltcoats have caused some confusion this week.

It has left many wondering what show the seafront may be starring in this time around.

However, it appears it won't be a TV show as such - though it is something which will be aired far more often.

The Herald has been told that British national mobile network operator and internet service provider EE have been filming for an advert here on the North Ayrshire coast.

EE is the second-largest mobile network operator in the United Kingdom, with 26.1 million subscribers as of September 2021.

Their adverts have been notorious since their rebranding in 2010, with many featuring film star Kevin Bacon.

However, much to the disappointment of one local who was working nearby to one of the filming sites, he reported no sighting of the Hollywood star.

Pictured above is one of the sites used for filming, along Melbourne Terrace in Saltcoats.

At the time of writing, there has been no confirmation of the advert's contents, or when we can expect to see this on air - however, the Herald has approached EE to obtain this information if at all possible.
