TWO Kilwinning men have been fined for shouting abuse and obstructing police officers during an arrest.
Dylan McLeod and William McInnes pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards the two police constables in September 2020.
The pair admitted acting in an aggressive manner at Dockhead Street and Countess Street in Saltcoats by repeatedly shouting and swearing at the officers.
Court papers stated they attempted to hinder the officers from effecting an arrest by using bodily force.
McInnes, 24, also pleaded guilty to assaulting the male officer by kicking him on the body whilst on the ground.
A not guilty plea to a further charge of assaulting the female constable by pushing her and striking her repeatedly with his arms and legs was accepted by prosecutors.
At Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week, 25-year-old McLeod, of Braidwood Road, was fined £260 while McInnes, of River Walk, was fined £730.
