A FORMER Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald reporter has made his presenting debut on national news.

Adam Todd, a former Greenwood Academy pupil who served at the Herald and sister paper Irvine Times after presenting on Irvine Beat FM, made his first on-screen appearance on STV as well as the Good Morning Scotland GMB segment on Friday after moving to work for the station’s national news team.

Adam said: “Delighted to have made my presenting debut with STV News today.

“Looking forward to getting started in my new role, working across bulletins and with the News at Six team!”

The programme’s long-serving presenter John Mackay said it was “an impressive debut”.
