A luxury couples’ campsite in Arran has won an award just five months after opening.
Raven’s Gully was announced to have won the Best Couples Campsite (Scotland) award at the Campsites.co.uk 2022 awards on Monday November 28.
The adults only campsite opened in June and is run by husband-and-wife duo Andrew and Barbara Read who were overjoyed by the news.
Andrew said: “Raven’s Gully is run by Barbara, my wife, and myself. Barbara and her family are from the island and we moved back here in 2020, but due to Covid we only opened for bookings in June this year.
“It was a lovely surprise to be awarded the Best Couples Glampsite Scotland, totally unexpected and great for Arran.
“Barbara and I didn’t know we had been nominated. Although we are couples only, we are probably as far removed from a traditional campsite as you can get.”
Each glamping pod has a private terrace equipped with an outdoor seating area and firepit.
Inside is equipped with high tech mod cons such as led mood lighting, USB points, a smart TV with Netflix & Amazon Prime, and Google Assistant.
Andrew continued: “The hideaways are really cosy, luxury retreats for couples to enjoy a peaceful island break- but styled and appointed as you might find a luxury hotel suite, with king sized beds, luxury bathrooms, and fully fitted kitchens.
“We include welcome hampers with produce sourced from local businesses including Arran Milk, Blackwaterfoot Bakery, James Chocolates, Woolies Oatcakes and Arran Cheese, and of course Arran Aromatics which our guests love.”
