A MAN had to be taken to hospital after an alleged assault in Ardrossan.
The incident took place in Glasgow on Thursday, December 1, just after 1pm.
The Herald contacted Police Scotland after members of the public reported that the Esso petrol station on the corner of Glasgow Street and Young Street had been cordoned off.
Police were unable to confirm if this was the exact location on the street where the alleged incident took place.
Officers did not say whether the male involved has been discharged from hospital at this time.
They say enquiries are now ongoing to establish the exact circumstances in this incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 1.05pm on Thursday, December 1, to a report of an assault on Glasgow Street, Ardrossan.
“A man has been taken to hospital for treatment and enquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
The reported area of Thursday's incident is little more than 300 metres from the street where police have been called to two serious assaults in the space of the last three weeks.
Cops attended reports of incidents in Winton Street on November 15 and 25.
There is no indication from police that any of these incidents are related.
