VIRGIN Media broadband is down in Kilbirnie following a van crash.
The issues have been caused after a telecommunications box on School Wynd at its junction with Bridge Street was struck by what images show to be a Mills Milk van.
The van is still reported to be at the crash site, next to Shaf's Chippy, which has had no reported issues following the incident.
The issue arose when the crash happened at around 4.30am this morning (Friday, December 16).
The driver of the vehicle was handed a fixed penalty notice for alleged road traffic offences following the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.30am on Friday, December 16, 2022, police were called to a single-vehicle road crash where a van struck a telecoms box on School Wynd at its junction with Bridge Street, Kilbirnie.
"The driver of the vehicle was issued a fixed penalty notice for alleged road traffic offences.
"The agency responsible for the telecoms box are aware and dealing."
And now Virgin have confirmed that there are broadband issues in the area - with a potential fix not estimated to be until 4pm today.
An update provided on the Virgin Media app states that those in the area might find that they do not have any Virgin Fibre, Voice or Interactive Virgin TV services at the moment.
Many locals have confirmed that their Virgin Media internet and other services are currently down.
