WEST Kilbride's Louise Dancan will be teeing it up with some of the best female golfers in the world on a weekly basis next year.
It comes after the village golfing sensation secured her Ladies European Tour (LET) card, at the first time of asking, for the 2023 season - in the most dramatic of fashion.
It was only a birdie on her 90th, and final, hole of the week which secured her spot on next season's main tour.
With the top 20 and ties from the five day tournament played at the South Course at La Manga - Louise got herself into a strong position heading into the latter stages of her final round.
Birdies at the second, eighth, ninth and 11th holes had her in a commanding position in the qualifying zone despite bogeys at the fifth and seventh until putting herself under massive pressure with a double-bogey at the 15th hole.
This meant she had to play the final three holes in one under par to secure that elusive tour card.
And pars at both 16 and 17 meant it all came down to the final hole - the par five 18th.
A great drive and solid second shot saw Louise 20 yards from the pin and in the bunker playing her third - knowing an up and down was needed.
As she so often has, Louise delivered, putting her bunker shot to within three feet and rolling home the putt, securing her LET card in the process.
It was a classic display of her never-say-die attitude which has been prominent throughout all of her golfing endeavours so far.
What made her achievement all the more impressive is how close Louise was to not even making the final qualifying event.
To get there, she had to finish in the top 64 of a four round pre-qualifying event also played at La Manga.
Here, Louise was eight over after only six holes, 11 over after her first round, and 13 over after two rounds.
However, a brilliant two under par third round, and remarkable five under final round secured her a comfortable 31st place finish on six over par and her spot in the final qualifier.
Louise told the Herald she will now take a few days to recover before reliving her experience with us!
