A FORMER chippy in Dalry will be converted into flats after plans were approved.
Orca Fish and Chips in New Street, which closed in July 2020 after less than a year in business, will be changed into two flats.
An application for change of use permission was submitted to North Ayrshire Council last August and the local authority's planning department has now given the green light to the proposals.
A report of handling on the decision said the overall external appearance of the building is in "a poor condition and is detrimental to the amenity of the area".
It said: "The proposed conversion of the vacant hot food takeaway to residential flats would be beneficial for the premises and would have positive amenity benefits for the surrounding area."
