Hit Broadway musical Hamilton – which focuses on a member of a historical Ayrshire family - will make its Scottish debut next year.
Coming to the UK in 2024, the musical will play in Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre in Edinburgh from Wednesday February 28 to Saturday April 27.
The show tells the story of Founding Father of the United States Alexander Hamilton, a member of the famous Hamilton family who owned Kerelaw Castle in Stevenston.
Alexander was born in Charlestown on Nevis island in the Caribbean after his parents James Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Pollock moved to the West Indies.
The tour will also come to Manchester Palace Theatre on Saturday November 11 this year where it will run until Saturday, February 24, 2024.
More UK stops are set to be announced later.
The show was penned by Lin Manuel Miranda and premiered off-Broadway to critical acclaim in 2015, moving to Broadway in 2016.
The musical became a phenomenon, sweeping the 2016 Tony awards with 11 wins out of 16 nominations and winning a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album in the same year.
After its Broadway run, Hamilton came to London in December 2017 where it was and still is a runaway success with shows planned until March 2024.
