The West Kilbride Horticultural Society Committee has announced its spring show will be held on Saturday, March 18 this year, in the Village Hall, Ritchie Street open from 2pm.
The tea room will be open until 4.15pm and the presentation of prizes is at 4.30pm. Several impressive trophies can be competed for.
Lengthening days mean gardens will soon be coming alive, so now is the time to start planning your exhibits. Show schedules are available at several places in the village, and classes for competition include hobbies and handicrafts, decorative arrangements, pot plants and cut flowers – and there is a large school children’s section offering many classes.
In addition, daffodil bulbs given by the society to West Kilbride school children late in 2022 to grow over the winter should be flowering, and the best bloom will win the Daffodil Cup to be held for a year.
Entries will be received at the hall on Friday, March 17, 6.30pm to 8pm and on the morning of the show from 8am to 10am (no entries can be staged after 10am). Stewards will be in attendance to assist.
This is a popular village event heralding the spring season, and the committee said it is looking forward to welcoming again all exhibitors and visitors.
