FILM crews have once again been spotted in the Three Towns but, as always, the question remains - what are they filming?
The teams were spotted down the Ardeer Industrial Estate earlier today, around the Gatehouse takeaway.
Stevenston is no stranger to film crews - with many having chosen to use this location in the past. But who is it this time?
Our camera club member Suzanne Kean suggested that the hit BBC Vigil was the answer.
The drama was a huge hit for the BBC with its only series to date - which may come as no surprise having been made by World Productions who also produced shows like Line of Duty, Showtrial, Save Me and Bodyguard.
And while the BBC told the Herald that they could not comment on specific filming locations during a show’s production period, they did verify that the show's second season is being filmed across Scotland at present.
This latest season will be another six-part drama where a brand-new investigation takes the show's main characters Amy Silva (Suranne Jones) and Kirsten Longacre (Rose Leslie) into the world of the British air force.
Following multiple unexplained fatalities at a Scottish military facility, Silva and Longacre are tasked with uncovering the cause.
Entering the hostile and closed ranks of the air force, the pair must face the deadly warfare of tomorrow as they fight for their own future.
So though we cannot say for certain at this time - the show's stars may well be on our screens with a Stevenston backdrop in the near future.
