A MAN from Saltcoats has been sentenced after he stole from a supermarket.
Alan Troy, 54, pleaded guilty to one charge when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday, June 2.
He admitted that, on May 2 of this year, he stole a quantity of alcohol and a shopping basket from Aldi on East Road in Irvine.
This offence was commited while Troy, of Old Raise Road, was out on bail - granted at the same court in April - for other matters.
When he was sentenced on Friday, Troy was given a Community Payback Order (CPO), which will see him placed under social work supervision for a period of 18 months.
