THE Ardrossan Highland Games returned yesterday - with big crowds enjoying the heat and the amazing atmosphere.
Chieftain for this year's Games was Ardrossan volunteering stalwart Brenda Johnstone, who was presented with her shepherd's crook at the start of the event at the Memorial Field
With threatened rain and even thunderstorms, locals were delighted to be met with sunshine during the event.
The show included all the old favourites, including the pipe band and solo piping competitions, Highland dancing events and the always popular heavy events.
There was plenty to enjoy at the craft fair too, with stalls galore, as well as lots of fun events for the wee ones.
A total of 2,500 free tickets were given out across the Three Towns' primary schools for the big day.
Well done to Chieftain Brenda and the Games Committee for organising another great day out.
