ARDROSSAN residents woke up to find themselves without power this morning (Wednesday June 14).
Homes in parts of Glasgow Street and Kilmahew Street have so far suffered a seven hour power outage following an electrical failure.
Power was restored to at least some properties around 12.30pm though it is believed some could remain without electricity until 4pm.
A spokesperson for SP Energy Networks said: "There is an unplanned power cut in the KA22 postcode area of Ardrossan affecting properties in Kilmahew Street and surrounding streets.
"We did not know in advance there would be a power cut however our engineers have now arrived on site and, we carried out an emergency shutdown at 10:55am.
"This may affect the supply to your property. We will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 4pm.
"We will update this message if this information changes. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
