TWO people have been arrested and charged in relation to a drugs bust in Kilwinning.
Police Scotland confirmed today, Friday, June 16, that a 51-year-old male and a 53-year-old female had been arrested following the search of a property in the town's Highfield Street.
Officers from Ayrshire's proactive crime team allegedly recovered cannabis and cocaine with a combined street value of more than £80,000.
The team of officers were acting on intelligence, executing a warrant at the property yesterday, Thursday, June 15.
The pair are both due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Cocaine and cannabis worth a combined street value of more than £80,000 has been recovered after a search of a property in Kilwinning.
"Officers from the Ayrshire Proactive Crime Team acting on intelligence executed a warrant at a property on Highfield Street on Thursday, June 15.
"A man, 51, and a woman, 53, have been arrested and charged with drug offences.
"They are both due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday, June 16.
