A PERSON was transported to hospital after an air ambulance was seen landing in Saltcoats yesterday, Thursday, June 22.
The patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where they were to be treated for their injuries.
The Herald understands that an air ambulance landed on Auchenharvie Golf Course to allow them to treat the person, who had sustained an injury on the adjacent Canal Street.
The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) confirmed the incident today (June 23), though no further details were provided on the nature of this.
A SAS spokesperson said: “We received a call at 2.44pm on June 22, 2023 to attend an incident on Canal Street, Saltcoats.
"An ambulance and air ambulance were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.”
Police Scotland were also present at the scene - though only to assist medical teams.
