An Ardrossan family have urged Three Towns residents to join the hunt to find their missing parrot Charlie.
The African Grey parrot escaped from the family home after someone left the front door open last Friday.
Worried owner Claire Hall has offered a cash reward for Charlie's safe return.
Claire told the Herald: "We had a visitor and they left the door open and Charlie disappeared.
"My little girl says he is playing hide and seek.
"We had someone in a neighbouring street report they heard a parrot but there was no sighting.
"We think we may have had a sighting in Ardrossan North, near Lawson Drive at the stream so anyone in this area please be vigilant and contact us as soon as he is seen.
"He’s probably pretty frightened so will most likely be quiet. Let’s bring the wee man home."
According to Parrot Trust Scotland, as a rule most birds who go missing will remain within a mile of their home for the first month.
Anyone who spots Charlie should called Claire on 07704 286503.
