A KILWINNING resident has warned of vandals targetting people's property in the area.
It comes after a car was damaged on Ashgrove Road in the town.
Reports on social media warned of the vandals who had allegedly targetted a vehicle on the street in the early hours of Sunday, July 2, morning.
The concerned resident said that an umbrella had been taken from a nearby public bin, and this was then used to scratch their vehicle.
They added that this was "not the first time" this had happened - and that the vandals had also tried to break into cars on the street.
Following the post, Police Scotland confirmed that they had been alerted of the incident - though enquiries were at an early stage.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.15pm on Sunday, July 2, we received a report of damage to a car in the Ashgrove Road area of Kilwinning that happened in the early hours.
“Enquiries are at an early stage.”
