POLICE remain at the scene of an incident in Stevenston over 48 hours after they were first called out.
Officers were called to Forde Crescent in the town in the early hours of Saturday, July 8, morning after two men were reported injured.
One man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital, and the other to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Locals had reported a heavy police presence around the area of the incident - with part of Forde Crescent cordoned off since Saturday night.
Police Scotland say that "a number of police resources" remain around the area of the incident, as their enquiries continue.
A force spokesperson said: "Around 12.40am on Saturday, July 8, 2023, police received a report that two men had been injured in Forde Crescent, Stevenston.
"Emergency services attended and both men have been taken to hospital, one to Crosshouse Hospital, the other to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
"A number of police resources are in the area as enquiries continue."
