A 'Wee Warrior' from Kilwinning has received a special birthday message from two of Scotland's most popular musicians.
Kieran Crichton celebrated his 18th birthday on Friday, July 18, after he battled through the many obstacles life has thrown his way.
The teenager had previously been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, medulloblastoma, and, after the surgery to remove the largest tumour, was left unable to walk or talk.
Due to the aggressive nature of the cancer, the brave teenager underwent surgeries, chemotherapy and radiotherapy – and in January of 2021 was hailed cancer free.
Kieran has continued to progress remarkably since then and had a great time celebrating his milestone birthday.
And his day was made even better when he received special well wished from Edinburgh rock duo, The Proclaimers.
Craig and Charlie Reid posted a message to the Wee Warrior who they described as a "great young man".
Kieran's mum Senga said that the message from The Proclaimers was "an amazing gesture from these guys remembering my boy on his special day".
The duo met Kieran last year at their show in Kilmarnock - where they donated £3,000 towards the Warrior Ball organised by Kieran's mum.
The first annual ball, a black tie event, took place in Irvine last year and raised an amazing an amazing £10,551 for two charities - Calum's Cabin and the Glasgow Children’s Hospital - who helped Kieran so much on his journey.
