TWO cars were "deliberately set alight" in Stevenston in the early hours of Saturday, July 22, morning.
Now Police are appealing for further information following the "reckless acts" which took place across two nearby streets in the town.
Police say that two cars were set ablaze at around 2.30am - on George Street and Arthur Street in Stevenston.
Though both vehicles were set on fire in different streets, the incidents are being treated as linked.
Emergency services attended both incidents at the time and the blazes were extinguished - and there were no injuries as a result of the fires.
Now, Police Scotland are appealing to the public, asking anyone with any information to come forward.
Detective Constable John Cuthbert said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious around the time of these fires to please speak with us.
"Fortunately, there were no injuries on this occasion, and extensive enquiries remain ongoing to trace those responsible for these reckless acts.
“Any drivers in the area at the time who use a dashcam, or any locals who may have home CCTV or doorbell footage, are asked to make contact if it could help with our investigation.”
Any information can be passed to Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident numbers 0471 and 0448 of Saturday, July 22, 2023.
