THE owners of a popular snack spot in the Ardeer industrial estate have announced they will be leaving the business.
Kevin Logan and Catherine Davidson have been operating The Shack in the bottom end of Stevenston since 2020.
It has become highly popular with its wide array of food offerings, including quirky special dishes such as loaded naan breads and tattie scone nachos.
But the current owners are now planning to step away, and will no longer be operating The Shack at the start of next month - September 1.
The decision was confirmed with a post on social media on Wednesday, August 2.
On Facebook, Kevin said: "This a message for all our Shack loyals, it's with a heavy heart that myself and Cat are writing this post to let everyone know that we will be moving on from running The Shack on September 1.
"We've had an absolute rollercoaster ride since opening during lockdown, building the business to a level we always knew was possible and gaining a reputation for tasty scran and exemplary service.
"This was all made possible by having a brilliant team in the kitchen, working tirelessly seven days a week to produce the goodies you all love.
"This is purely a personal decision as we feel we have taken The Shack as far as we can and are looking to move onto something new."
Despite the decision, Kevin explained that fans of the popular snack spot should not worry that they will be losing The Shack altogether.
He continued: "We leave the business in a great place, we have spoken to a few potential new owners and welcome anyone interested to send us a wee personal message to discuss, there's an amazing opportunity here for the right person.
"Hopefully a new owner can come in and implement new ideas to take things even further."
He also added a massive thank you for all the customers for support The Shack since they opened shortly after the first Covid lockdown.
Kevin added: "Thank you to each and every one of our supporters and loyal customers throughout the last three years, we appreciate all of you.
"And to TeamShack2020, we've been through good times and bad together but always pulled through as a team and we love you all for the effort you've put in.
"We're still here for another four weeks folks but you will see gradual changes to the menu as we start phasing out our version of The Shack.
"Sad times, but also exciting times ahead."
