A MAN was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Saltcoats town centre at the weekend.
The incident took place late on Saturday, August 12, on the town's Vernon Street.
Police Scotland attended the crash, which they confirmed involved a pedestrian and a car.
A force spokesperson said: “We were called around 11.50pm on Saturday, August 12, to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car, on Vernon Street, Saltcoats.
“The pedestrian, a 43-year-old man, was treated by the Scottish Ambulance Service."
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that the man was transported to hospital after the crash.
A spokesperson added: “We received a call at 11.46pm on Saturday, August 12 to attend an accident on Vernon Street in Saltcoats.
"We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported one patient to Crosshouse Hospital.”
