THE owner of a popular Three Towns snack van has retired.
It was confirmed this week that Tommy Allison - who owns Allison's Snack Van - was stepping away from his role.
Tommy has been a "legend" of the local snack spot scene, with his van which is typically parked at Tesco in Saltcoats and is hugely popular with locals and workers alike.
A social media post this week confirmed Tommy's decision to enjoy a well-earned retirement after years feeding hungry Three Towns residents.
But Tommy's many customers and fans need not worry - as the business won't be shutting up shop, with Tommy's son Bryan taking it over along with Michelle Alexander.
And Tommy won't be retiring completely, instead taking on a small role as "delivery driver extraordinaire".
Announcing the news Michelle said: "The legend known as Tommy, is now taking his well earned retirement! Congratulations Tommy. You put in a fair shift!
"Bryan and I have now taken over the business. Keeping it in the family."
The new bosses have also confirmed that the business will run as usual, offering deliveries and operating at events, under their watch.
Michelle continued: "We will continue to run the nights as well as taking over the days and are still available for special events.
"We are super excited to get stuck in and keep delivering the best of food, service and banter.
"Dont hesitate to get in touch with us for any orders or bookings."
