DRIVERS using the Three Towns bypass will soon have to get used to roadworks on the carriageway.
Trunk road maintenance firm Amey have announced a near two-month period of works along the A78 road between the Pennyburn Roundabout and Chapelhill Roundabout.
Amey, which maintains the trunk road network across Ayrshire and the south-west on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be carrying out "essential woodland management" on the stretch of road.
Work will begin on Monday, September 4 and will carry on until Tuesday, October 31.
The work will take place between 7am and 7pm each day.
During these time periods, lane closures will be used to allow the work to be completed.
Amey says that access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.
An Amey spokesperson said: "This scheme will benefit around 13,000 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety of the carriageway and promoting a healthier environment for local wildlife."
