THE results of months of hard work in West Kilbride’s gardens and greenhouses was put on display recently at the West Kilbride Horticultural Society’s annual show.
Held in the village hall, there were prizes to be won at the show in dozens of different classes, from roses and sweet peas to chrysanthemums and cacti, while the decorative section attracted a stunning array of beautifully colourful creations.
The battle for prizes was just as competitive in the fruit and vegetable classes as well as in the sections for home baking and preserves.
There were also honours up for grabs in the dedicated section of the show for schoolchildren, beginning with pupils in the earliest years of primary school.
A spokesperson for the society said: "A big thank you to all the exhibitors who put entries in to the Show.
"A wonderful array of exhibits were on display and appreciated by all who visited in the afternoon.
"Cream teas were very popular providing a much needed source of income for the society."
The prize list will be published at a later date; in the meantime you can enjoy this selection of pictures by our photographer Charlie Gilmour from another hugely successful and memorable show.
