A TAKEAWAY boss faces claims of employing three illegal workers at his premises in the Three Towns. 

Haiou Lu, 47, is alleged to have employed the workers illegally in breach of UK immigration laws at the Speed Takeway, Countess Street, Saltcoats on March 26 this year. 

He faces a charge of employing a person aged 45 who was subject to immigration control and had not been granted leave to remain in the UK.

A second and third charge on the Crown's complaint alleges employing another two males, both aged 34, without leave to remain.

The case was continued without plea when it called last week at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court [Thursday, August 31]. 

Mr Lu, of Nursery Drive, Kilwinning, will appear in court to face the allegations at a later date.
