A SALTCOATS man who was clocked doing up to 110 miles an hour in Ardrossan has been banned from the roads.
Christopher Robert Hope, 38, was sentenced this week after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing to a charge of dangerous driving.
Hope, of Argyle Road, admitted driving at excessive speed on the A78 near the Chapel Hill roundabout during "inclement weather" on March 8, 2022.
Court papers state he reached a speed of 110mph on a stretch of the road which has a 70mph limit.
As well as a 12-month ban from holding or obtaining a licence, Hope was handed a fine of £425.
