MEMBERS of the North Ayrshire Tartan Army supporters' club headed to Larnaca last week - and met a famous political face in the process.
They watched on as the national team put on a show in a 3-0 win against Cyprus which all but secured their qualification for Euro 2024.
But a social media post from one of the club's members gained traction after they bumped into a former First Minister during their trip.
The group crossed paths with former SNP leader, and current leader of the Alba Party, Alex Salmond.
Seen posing for a picture holding a bottle of Buckfast, one supporters' club member was particulary amused that he was ""cutting about Larnaca with a 'Salmond 1' top on".
It is understood the number one on the back of his top would have been a reference to his previous role as the nation's First Minister.
And though the meeting was enjoyable, we are sure the highlight of the trip was still the memorable away victory.
