A POPULAR Ayrshire business has hinted at a move into Saltcoats town centre.

The Hanger Preloved Superstore is a popular clothing shop which sells a "wide range of second hand and new clothes".

At present, it operates one highly successful store on Ayr's High Street.

This has allowed it to begin an expansion process, with the business currently working on setting up shop in Irvine.

And it appears that its next stop may well be Saltcoats after a telling post on social media.

The Hanger posted an image on its social media page of the company's van outside the vacant former Shoe Zone shop on Dockhead Street.

The premises has been empty since January following the store's closure - though nine months on, it appears that life may be brought back to the building in the near future.

We approached The Hanger for comment, though no further details have been provided at this stage.

In response to one comment on its Facebook post, which said "anyone know where we are today",  it told one person that the reason for being there is "secret right now".

We can't help but feel that the secret may be out...
