A SALTCOATS community group has hailed the success of their annual 'pirate day' on the town's shore front.
The Saltcoats Active Lifestyle Team (SALT) are well known for their outstanding work regenerating the town's Winton Circus play park.
But their work has not let up since then, with the group continuing in their mission to provide the finest facilities and events for children and their families in the Three Towns.
And that is exactly what they did with their "magical" pirate day held at the Winton Circus park - the second edition of the annual event.
Families descended on the shore front facility, with plenty of fun on offer thanks to the hard work of SALT volunteers and a number of other local businesses and organisations.
SALT chairperson Donna McGregor commented: "Thank you so much to everyone who came along. To see you all there was a dream come true.
"Today wouldn’t have been possible without the SALT committee who over the last few weeks have gave up so much of their own time to make today a day to remember.
"Thankyou to the following people for making the day 'magical'."
Amongst the volunteers Donna looked to thank were Amy, Evie and Niamh who worked their magic at the face painting station.
Gordon, Val, Karen and Sharon were also on hand at the badge making station which was a huge hit with all in attendance.
Elaine Meney from the Melbourne Cafe continued her "never ending support" by providing a donation of juice, sweets and chocolate for the children at the event.
Tommy Murphy and the rest of the team at Drum 4UR Life also helped to provide "such a special and unique way to keep everyone entertained".
They were helped to keep everyone entertained by Fabulous Fraser - Ayrshire Children's Magician, Captain Pete and Jake and the Neverland Pirate Mascot.
Donna also thanked Mark Baraclough for bringing along his ice cream van which was perfect for washing down food provided by Allison's Snack Van.
Donna added: "Thanks also to Anne McGregor and Kayleigh McGregor for helping me over the past few days
"Thanks to Jean McClung, John Foxall, Kieran Cowan and Jai for volunteering to come along and help us at the sweetie table and scavenger hunt. Thank you to Harris for helping the children do Glenn Turner amazing scavenger hunt.
"Thanks to Gary for helping bring the gazebos, tables and chairs and the pirates
"The event wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support that we receive from the local community and businesses.
"Thank you so much to you all. I hope to see you all next year for pirate day number three!"
