A POPULAR Dalry takeaway has confirmed that it has closed.
The Golden Eagle Cantonese and Chinese takeaway has been a fixture of the town's Main Street for the past 18 years.
But it has been announced the eatery will not reopen.
The owners confirmed the news with a notice to customers, which was displayed in their store over the past few days.
It said: "The shop will permanently close from October 9.
"We will continue operating until October 8 and would like to thank everyone for their support over the last 18 years."
The news saddened many locals, who say they will miss "the best Chinese in Dalry".
Residents took to social media to wish the departing owners all the best as they step away from the business.
One said: "Very best of luck in your future we will really miss you in Dalry.
"Thanks for all your great meals and great service over the years, we will miss your lovely food."
