A KILBIRNIE woman has been jailed after committing a string of offences during a trip to Largs.
Nicole Shaw, 30, pleaded guilty to three different charges when she appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
Shaw, of Bathville Road in Kilbirnie, admitted to assaulting and acting in a threatening or abusive manner to two retail workers, a male aged 71 and female aged 67, on shift at a store on Largs Main Street on October 10 of this year.
She did so by shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner, uttering offensive and ageist remarks and striking the elderly woman on the head.
Shaw's offences then continued that day, over on Crawford Street in the town.
She admitted to intentionally obstructing two police officers who were attempting to carry out a lawful search of Shaw.
She did so by refusing to hand over a wrap containing an unknown substance - believed to be controlled drugs - and struggling with the officers attempting to obtain said wrap.
Thereafter, Shaw placed the wrap within her mouth and swallowed it.
One further charge referred to controlled drugs which were in Shaw's possession when she was taken to Saltcoats police station later that day.
Police found the 30-year-old to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine.
All of these offences were committed while Shaw was out on bail granted three times at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on June 7 of this year.
After submitting guilty pleas to all three charges, Shaw was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, which began after her court appearance on October 11.
