A POLICE presence remains in Ardrossan after a cordon was set up in the town earlier this morning.
An area within the Asda supermarket car park was taped off by officers early this morning, Wednesday, November 1.
It was also noted that a police car and van were around the scene in the lane between the flats on Harbour Street and the section of car park that sits adjacent.
At the time the cordon was erected, part of the pavement running past the flats along to the lane was sectioned off, as well as a number of car parking spaces. The remaining sections of the car park were unaffected.
A handful of cars remained parked within the spaces - though it is understood these were already stationed there when the cordon was placed.
The police tape has since been removed from the area, however one police vehicle remained at the scene at the time of writing.
