A MAN has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Ardrossan.
Another male has been taken to hospital in Glasgow as a result of the allegedincident on the town's Harbour Street.
Police Scotland have confirmed the incident after officers were sighted in the area and a cordon was visible on the morning of Wednesday, November 1.

Two force vehicles were seen in the area, as officers taped off part of the pavement around the flats on Harbour Street as well as an area of the car park at Asda supermarket.
A majority of the area has since been re-opened to the public, though a police presence remained at the scene at the time of writing.
Police Scotland say the action was taken in response to an alleged serious assault late on Hallowe'en night [Tuesday October 31], with a man now due to appear in court tomorrow to face charges.
A force spokesperson said: "Around 10.05pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 officers were called to reports of a serious assault in the Harbour Street area of Ardrossan.
"A 56-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
"A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection and due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, November 2, 2023.”
